Hugging For Hope

Connecting Minds with Mother Nature

About

VerdeVibes By Truphena is a Pan-African environmental endurance initiative founded by world record holder Truphena Muthoni. The name was born while Truphena was learning Brazilian Portuguese in preparation for COP30 , “Verde” meaning green or forest capturing the soul of this grassroots climate movement.
VerdeVibes blends symbolic endurance actions, music, and community mobilization to inspire climate action across Africa and the Global South. It aims to bridge youth energy, indigenous knowledge, and global solidarity through deeply personal but widely visible acts of resistance.
The four signature colors worn in Truphena’s hair ,Green, , Black, Blue and Red , also dominate the VerdeVibes logo. These colors represent the Earth, fire, people, and resistance, echoing the movement’s roots in Afro-indigenous identity and environmental defense.

MISSION
To inspire the world to reconnect with nature , not just through policy, but through presence, story, and sacrifice. We believe healing the planet starts with touching it, loving it, and listening.

Earth Caretaker of the Week: Junior 🤣👌 She hugged the tree, then whispered, 'Don’t worry, I won’t let them turn you into a desk.' Junior doesn’t just love trees, she claims them. That one? Hers. The other one? Also hers. She thinks bark is just tree skin, and yes,she kissed it. Here’s to Junior , Chief Forest Protector of the Under 5 League. No degree. No drama. Earth Caretaker of the week:Patrick Kiash Patrick hugged a tree in 2017. No cameras. No stage. Just care. Just conviction. What began as a quiet act of love has now evolved into a global movement, one that’s reaching all the way to COP30. Tree hugging is no longer just a personal gesture. It’s a climate call. A protest. A prayer. Rooted then. Rising now. 🌳 #verdevibesbytruphena #COP30 #EarthCaretaker #FromLoveToMovement #saveourforests #hugtheamazon https://www.hugtheearthwithtruphena.com

Earth Caretaker of the Week: Lupita Pauline On this sacred Sunday, we honour Lupita . In a world rushing to repair, she pauses to revere. Before we mitigate, we must honour what is still alive. Before we plant, we must remember what roots us. Lupita reminds us that environmental care is not just a civic duty , it is a spiritual responsibility. This is what leadership looks like when it's rooted in love. sharing your photo means you're happy to get published on https://www.hugtheearthwithtruphena.com/ #verdevibesbytruphena #cop30 #worldrecordvibes #hugtheamazon #72hrsofenvironmentalendurance
